Cheap Big ScreensWith how fast todays technology is moving, it's becoming easier to locate cheap big screens. What type you ask? Well pretty much any kind, those used for both computer displays and TV's. With the advent of LCD and liquid plasma technology into the consumer market, the demand for yester-years technology of CRT displays is dropping off. This means the retail price of these units is going down by the day, which means if you don't mind a little bit larger unit in your living room you can find some cheap big screens for a heck of a lot less then only a few years ago.Personally the size doesn't bother me. Everything else equal I'd rather save the money and have a cheap big screen that uses CRT technology then break the bank and purchase a more expensive LCD or plasma unit. The other upside is that Plasma and LCD technology are still having the bugs worked out of it. I'm not interested in being a guinea pig so I'd rather stick with the tried and tested technology. There are a ton of great locations you can get cheap big screens, leaving you with a ton of options to choose from. Personally I tent to begin of shopping quest on the Internet, checking what's out there, and what the pricing is like. If you visit the manufacturers websites directly you can often find a really great deal, and you'll be ordering direct from the source for your cheap big screen. The negative of actually making your purchase online is the cost of shipping. Because of the size of the item shipping can get quite expensive, meaning the deal will have to be pretty sweet to cover the additional cost. Because of this shipping issue I generally use the Internet for research but make my purchase offline for such a large product. I have to say one of the best stores to locate cheap big screens are the warehouse style retailers like Costco, and price club. While their selection isn't always the best, you are almost guaranteed to find a great deal. They usually have at least one or two models available with inventory. Normally I wouldn't visit a store such as Costco when shopping for electronics but when it's price I'm thinking about they're at the top of my list to at least visit and check out the current inventory. If there is one in your location Fry's electronics store is a great place to check out as well. I don't have the luxury unfortunately but every time I'm near one I'm always sure to pop in to check out the deals. They usually have a big selection of cheap big screens, as well as monitors. I usually find that their prices are consistent with what I see online, but of course I wouldn't have to pay the big shipping bill, hence they're a good store to start at. No matter where it is you make your cheap big screen purchase, I think it's obvious that patience, and research are the two keys to finding the best deal. It's tough to wait it out sometimes, but often clearance pricing, or change over in inventory at stores like Costco or Cry's will bring about that deal you've been dreaming of. Good luck, and enjoy the first movie you watch on your brand new cheap big screen. |
