Cable TV Providers

If it hasn't happened yet it's soon about to, there are way to many cable TV providers around. It used to be so simple, one local company bid for the business of a whole are and they were the sole supplier of the cable television service. They had a basic cable, middle package, then premium movie channels and such you could purchase on top of that. None of this pay per view, digital cable, dish network satellite TV companies. It's literally become a media frenzy out there, it's a buffet of providers to choose from.

Of course it's not just Cable TV you're shopping for anymore, there's now Internet service that generally comes along with it. With the Internet came Bundles, now ever provider is pitching their low cost bundle to save you a few bucks a month by having both cable TV and the Internet through the same provider. Of course the next wave of technology threatening to change our cable TV providers again is High Definition Television. Seems some providers are going to offer it and some won't. So if you're considering that new HDTV, remember it might mean switching providers in the near future to fully take advantage of it.

As mentioned, todays cable TV providers aren't just offering cable service, their peddling Internet connections to. Companies like Comcast offer a whole new area of marketing to all of this, with more channels then you can shake a stick at plus unlimited high speed Internet connection. Then there is Dishnet and DirecTV, that offer satellite services that is a whole other slew of channels that allow you to waste the day away from the sofa.

Now of course there is a new medium of entertainment threatening to steal away those precious cable viewers. The Internet, todays new entertainment medium. Realistically the Internet has a lot to offer people over the cable TV providers, sharing information with others, chatting with others half way around the world, and the huge educational aspect. No matter how well cable TV providers are able to vary their programming they will never have the millions and millions of people that make the Internet a unique place to surf each and every day.
